Great stopover in Masindi

We were on our way from Kampala to Murchison Falls NP and ended up running out of time before it got dark so made an unexpected stop at New Court. The staff was incredibly helpful and the facilities met our expectations. I would recommend when in Masindi. Restaurant was great as well.

Charming but could do with better maintenance

The garden and relaxing atmosphere. Clean comfy beds and rooms with good mosquito nets. Electricty works. Hot water works. Even though there is a restaurant service provided we could eat our own food in the evening in the place (bought their coffee and tea).

The rooms (in individual cabins and general upkeep of the place require attention: curtains had not been washed and fittings did no longer function, grass cover on cabins was missing in several places, the bar/restaurant which originally appeared well equipped might last have been painted decades ago. The door posts in one of our rooms had visible termite damage.

the small living huds are extremely comfortable. The food was delicious and the customer service worked out very well.

Nice and cost effective

Nice and convenient situation. Good price.

Lining could be cleaner, there were stains after cleaning but this is minor.

Not our best stay...

To be fair, when I complained I got a discount. The food at the hotel restaurant is very good and the prices are more than fair! Staff is friendly but not what we were used to from other locations across Uganda.

I'm not sure why this hotel has such good reviews. When we arrived late afternoon after a 6h drive they realized our room wasn't ready. There was a terrible smell in our room, smelled like an old dirty kitchen. The sheets had stains on them and there was no hot water. In the night there was a party next door with an MC who continuously yelled at the people ;-) Don't get me wrong, I'm not the person expecting luxury but the accumulation of all factors was making this stay not comfortable.

A hospitable atmosphere, great food and a nice, clean cottage.

For us Masindi was just a station on a bigger journey. The hotel served our aim of hosting us for one night well. Situated in an city it offered a relative quiet place.

In Masindi was a festival that lasted until deep into the night. However, that can happen in any city and the hotel cannot be blamed for it.

A fine place from which to visit Murchison

Staff were great. Absolutely great. When my rental car would not start in the early morning, they called their driver, who arrived in a matter of minutes to jump start. And when the same thing happened the next day (and the driver was elsewhere), they called a mechanic from a local petrol station and again all was solved in less than 20 minutes. Considering that I was in Masindi to go on game drives in Murchison, the attention of the staff to my needs willbe remembered for a long time.

Water and electricity problems on the second night, but that is really out of the hotel's control.

Nice place to chill and eat in Masindi... nice for a stay and visit around Murchison and around.

The staff was friendly and helpful with an good restaurant and I had delicious Indian meal. But all people with us enjoyed their meals... Burger , fish , African dishes and Indian all was yummy. The cottage are very nice and cosy and the compounds is nicely tight and well maintained. We had a good breakfast too. Thanks to Blog of a Muzungu who gave us this place to try.... We recommended it definitively.

Not a worthy place for money we spent.

Only location and natural embience. Reception staff is polite and decent.

1. No wifi availability in rooms. And poor wifi in restaurant. 2. No phone /intercom in room to communicate with reception. For everything you have to move out of room to talk or order anything. 3. Extremely small size of room for a family or couple. 4. They give only limited amount of breakfast in complimentry service. No full breakfast. 5. Most of dishes are not available. Chef not ready to talk to customers. We peep into kitchen which was very dirty.

We had a great stay and I would definitely stay again at the new court view hotel

The food in the restaurant was absoluut great and very affortable. They even served different sort of deserts which we did not have before in other ( more expensive ) hotels. The rooms are small and basic but very cosy. The hotel is close to the center of town so its easy to walk to the supermarket, postoffice, bank and small shops. I would definitely go back to the new court view hotel.

It's a little far from the park but that was our own choice since we did have a budget and staying in a lodge in the park would have cost must more.

Adequate for a short stay

There is nice green space relative to the surroundings. Masindi was dry and dusty when we visited mid-june.

It is situated between 2 roads and the air quality is not great, fumes settle but eventually clear in the early morning.
